The Story Behind It All

The birth of Tomia came shortly after booking my first luxury holiday to the Maldives (eekk.. Best time ever!). As most women do before a holiday, I began trawling the internet to find the perfect swimwear. I was looking for UK based classic, striking designs that I would wear year on year and not to throw away after a couple of wears. 

To my disappointment, yet pending revelation, I couldn’t find what I was looking for. I knew others would be feeling the same struggles as me; from this I found a passion for swimwear and a forcing urge to bring something to the market myself. In a throwaway generation, I wanted to bring designs to women that were contemporary and on trend, whilst focusing on classic elements to create forever style. 

After putting pen to paper and carefully considering what was missing for the UK swimwear market, Tomia was here. My sketches soon evolved into 9 beautiful swimwear designs for Tomia’s collection. Three photoshoots, Regent Street store inclusion and a Great British Young Entrepreneur nomination later, here we are at the end of 2020. COVID or not you won’t see new releases from us every season; instead we focus on lasting style that is here for the long haul. We have big plans for the label and looking forward to taking you on the journey with us; so much more to come for us!
